It was founded by visionary industrialist and well known philanthropist Sardar Tavinder Singh Kohli, Founder and Chairman of Guru Nanak Institutions.

Old age homes are visited regularly in and around the city to educate, motivate and provide full basic oral health care, by conducting various dental camps, in association with NGOs like Lions Club, Rotary Club, NTR virtual Blood Bank and etc. The institute also conducts regular continuing dental education workshop, seminars for the practical knowledge of students & faculty by utilizing the services of guest speakers/faculty from Industries, Research Institutes, foreign countries, Government Organizations.
